Problem Gambling Network of Ohio

Mission & History

Mission

Building a network of support for those impacted by gambling through collaboration, education and research

History

Founded in 2010, Problem Gambling Network of Ohio (PGNO) helps those impacted by gambling through community outreach, workforce development, and quality assurance of Ohio's gambling support services.

PGNO is neither for nor against legalized gambling. Gambling exists as an enjoyable entertainment for many people. If and when gambling becomes an issue that impacts an individual’s life with consequences including difficulties with personal and/or work relationships, PGNO seeks to meet its mission statement by providing a network of support to problem gamblers, their families and the professionals who assist them while bringing awareness to this issue.

NCPG Affiliation/Position on Gambling

PGNO is an affiliate of the National Council on Problem Gambling, www.ncpgambling.org, and does not take a position for or against legalized gambling. While we have a neutral stance regarding gambling, it is our responsibility to advocate for those who are negatively impacted by gambling and ensure any gambling or gambling expansion includes consumer protections to mitigate harm.
