Getting your Gambling Disorder Endorsement is a great way to expand your counseling skills and provide specialized care to those struggling with problem gambling. If you're a current license holder with an LCDC II, LCDC III, or LICDC, you can get your endorsement by establishing competency in treating gambling disorder.
For those applying through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Board, you'll need to complete 30 hours of gambling-specific training in 4 content areas and submit a Notification of Supervisory Relationship form signed by a supervisor with demonstrated competency in gambling disorder treatment. PGNO offers the Stages Training Series to help you complete this requirement and provide specialized education.
Once you have your Preliminary Gambling Endorsement, you'll have up to 2 years to advance to the Renewable Gambling Endorsement. To do this, you'll need to complete an Experience Verification form that documents 100 hours of gambling disorder direct clinical experience and obtain a minimum of 4 hours of supervision from a supervisor with demonstrated competency in gambling disorder treatment. PGNO offers the Gambling Endorsement Supervisory Program to help you meet these requirements and support you in completing the 100 hours of direct clinical experience.
After receiving your Renewable Endorsement, you'll need to complete 6 hours of gambling-specific education every two years to renew the endorsement with your attached license.
