Ohio Gambling Treatment Fellowship Application Now Open
The Ohio Gambling Treatment Fellowship (The Fellowship) is a year-long program designed to increase the experience and expertise of professionals in the problem gambling field. The goals of the program are to prepare clinicians in providing gambling treatment services, aiding private practitioners and community agencies in improving problem gambling services, professional development and strengthening Ohio’s workforce. This includes skills such as the ability to provide clinical treatment in person, telephonically and virtually, to serve as a trainer on topics related to disordered gambling and to serve as a general resource regionally and at the state level on disordered gambling treatment.
The Fellowship is comprised of training, clinical consultation, project planning, implementation and evaluation and professional development. The program concludes with fellows presenting a project, case study or research presentation along with a professional development plan to a grading panel. Project examples include but are not limited to: implementing evidence-based gambling screens at an agency, improving problem gambling assessments at an agency where they are already occurring, outlining a problem gambling group manual, a case presentation discussing a current client in treatment, literature review on a specific at-risk population or co-morbidity, etc.
The program includes:
· Monthly virtual meetings
· Virtual trainings with state and national experts
· Free registration for trainings and state conference
· Project consultation with Fellowship Facilitator and cohort
