Presented by CPGC: Dr. Ledgerwood will provide an overview of recent research on neurobiological factors related to reward and impulsivity that influence the development, maintenance and treatment of gambling disorder.
Cuyahoga Problem Gambling Coalition: Neurobiology of Impulsivity and Reward Processing in Gambling Disorder

More research has been conducted in the past two decades on gambling disorder and its treatment than at any other time in history. As a result, we know that behavioral treatments can help people with gambling disorder to reduce the burden of this illness. However, little is known about specific factors, including neurobiological factors, that can affect how well treatments work. Dr. Ledgerwood will provide an overview of recent research on neurobiological factors related to reward and impulsivity that influence the development, maintenance and treatment of gambling disorder.
